Trusty Booties

My office environment is business casual and allow me to wear my trusty booties during the work week. I purchased these boots five years ago and still find new ways to wear them.

Making a Come Back

I'm getting back into a routine again and hoping to get back in the swing of the blog. I still have a lot to learn about indoor photography. 

In other news, I wore sweater tights today... While I would have preferred to wait until December to add them into the rotation, I was very cozy all day long.

Shhh... Can You Keep a Secret?

Everything I wore on Friday was purchased at a thrift store. I fell in love with thrifting while I was in college. Even though I had a job every semester and summer, I was living on a college student budget and did my best to make smart additions to my wardrobe.

I found button down in the men's section at my local Plato's Closet. I generally have decent luck there... though I have to dedicate enough time to go through the store a few times to make the trip successful. My black jeans and leopard smoking flats I found at Crossroads Trading Co. The flats are still available online at Target and they are super comfy. My black jeans are the rail straight black frost by Madewell. Yes. The jeans are Madewell and I purchased them at a thrift store. I'm not sure who decided to give up these amazing jeans, but I snatched them up, tried them on and quickly purchased them before I could think twice. They are my first Madewell purchase. Needless to say, I am now a full fledged believer in their denim. I will be saving up for another pair in the future.

Even though I am now working, I am still living within a budget. I also really enjoy the art of thrifting. I find it really exciting to walk into a store and stumble upon hidden treasures.

Here Comes the Rain

I'm so glad that I took these photos before I went to work this morning. It rained from the later afternoon through the evening. The storm was a the ultimate trifecta - lightning, thunder and hail. Thankfully I didn't have big plans, so I was able to enjoy a cozy night at home.

Compleatly Surprised

Yes, I am fully aware that completely is spelled wrong in the title of this post. Oh how could I forget that I owned this wonderful, maroon pleated skirt? As I swapped out some of my summer clothes for fall ones this past weekend, I rediscovered my go-to skirt last fall and winter. I am a big believer in storing seasonal clothing if you have the space to do so. At the start of every new season I fall in love all over again with items that I forgotten I already had and saves me from feeling like I need to go buy an entirely new wardrobe.

Falling Into Fall

Fall has officially arrived in Chicago! I had to put on a coat this morning because I realized that the chill in the air was intense. I kept my outfit simple and neutral due to my surprise that I needed to layer up. I plan on pulling together something brighter for tomorrow.

New Blog

After following many blogs for a few years now I have finally decided to star a blog of my own. I'm both nervous and excited about starting this blog. I have a lot to learn, but so far it's been really fun!
